S. Toduţă’s piano works significantly outnumber other chamber compositions, due to the composers’ acquaintance with this instrument. Both in his solo works and in cameral compositions, the piano score stands out through a complex elaboration of sound substance, the carefulness of the author in establishing interpretative parameters and his penchant towards the trends of renewal of musical language.  The current research attempts at investigating the dynamics of these approaches in S. Toduţă’s piano works.
